Jennifer Elcano has been playing guitar since around the age of 13. She also played violin and viola from a young age, eventually playing for the famed University of Virginia symphony orchestra. Everything she knows about guitar she learned from her father, who taught himself how to play by listening to a Doc Watson instructional "45". Jennifer spends most of her musical energy these days singing and performing with her 8-piece band Random Act and with her husband Tomm (bass) and friend Jerry Eby (pedal steel) as part of "folkhead". She is a technical writer by trade, a job she truly adores and would give up only to tend bees or develop test scabs for band-aid comparisons. As president of her home-based business Elcano Communications, Jennifer writes for a variety of Federal Government and private-sector clients, having found a niche in Federal Government PR.
