Michelle Lockey

Singer/Songwriter/Folk/Ukulele/Guitar/Vocals

Michelle is a multi-award winning recording artist and performing singer- songwriter/producer from Maryland. She is also a three-time Washington Area Music Award Nominee. Michelle’s CD, More to Life, was released in September 2014. This is her fourth LP release. She also has six single releases including two singles released by Black Toast Records. (All Music available on ITunes) She performs at venues such as Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club, Signature Theatre, and in Concert series such as Focus Music and Stone Room Concerts, Festivals at Main Street Music Fest, First Saturdays and more.

One of her most notable accomplishments is winning the Grand Prize in the Folk category of the 2014 John Lennon Song Contest for her song, “Your Footprints” written with fellow songwriter Paul Otten. Michelle was also a semi-finalist in the 2014 International Song Contest, a Silver Winner in the 2012 Songwriter’s Association of Washington contest and her International duo group, Blu Cedar, was a semi-finalist in the 2015 the Unsigned Only contest.

Michelle is also a prolific songwriter for Film & TV. Michelle has many Film & TV placements and has become well respected and recognized in the industry. Her biggest Film & TV placements to date include the use of her song “Dogs Bark & Cats Hiss” as the theme song for the MAVTV show Gear Heads, “Devour Me” was used in a prime spot in the show Reign, her song “You’re My Sweet Sweet Home” used for a prime placement in ABC Family’s The Fosters Season II premier, "You & My Happy Heart" (written with Paul Otten) was used in a song feature in USA's show Benched and “Unburden Me” with Paul Otten was in a featured spot in Longmire. Michelle also has held workshops for writing & licensing songs and just finished a 9 -week Live On-line workshop that was very successful. She was also hired to speak at Prince George’s Community College Media and Arts Conference. She spoke to students about licensing music. Writing for Film & TV is an area that Michelle excels at and she will continue to focus and succeed in this area.
