Singer/songwriter and SAW Board member Paige Powell, who is also host for three (!) SAW-sponsored open mics in our DC Metro Area will perform an Autumn-themed concert on Friday, October 21st at the Church at Clarendon, 1210 N. Highland St. in Arlington. Although she will play  a few Christian-based songs, Paige has a good sense of humor. She does everything she can to entertain everyone with good stories about "Thanksgiving with Real Indians" in her song titled "Too Hung Over" for example! The no-cost evening includes FREE snacks and beverages and if FREE street parking isn't available, you can park across the street for only $5.00. Mention to Paige that you're a SAW member and you get a FREE CD!

The Gazebo Jam at Lake Needwood is an acoustic song-circle type event that take place most Sundays at the Gazebo at Lake Needwood.  Search "Gazebo Jam" to join the Facebook Group and stay up on the jam news and get location info etc.  But basically this coming sunday is the annual picnic -- from noon til ??? It's pot luck -- bring a dish, a bev, something for the grill or whatever -- and your smile and your axe if you want to jam --

    Hello folks,

I just joined SAW and was wondering if there were opportunities for 'virtual' song critique sessions (workshops).  I am preparing my submission for the song contest and it would be great to share my work with other writers beforehand to get feedback.  I'd love to attend an in-person session, but online could work well too.  Feel free to post if you know of, or are interested in something like this.  Thanks!
