Details for October Mixing Bowl Event:

Come to an evening of laughs this Saturday, October 18th at the Surge, 1988 Kirby Road in McLean, VA. We'll start at 6:00 p.m. with a warm, autumn pot-luck supper undefined. (I picture a lineup of crock pots!) Then, at 7:00 p.m. we'll start the fun and entertaining lineup of funny songs from our musicians and friends! Of course, some of our songwriting buddies have trouble with humor, so "funny" can also mean "whimsical" or "strange" as well, just to make sure everyone can participate.

A great example of "funny-strange" songs would be the Beatles, who wrote about the many "holes in Albert Hall," "cellophane flowers with looking-glass ties" and what was that about "the walrus was Paul"??? And, really, who can live in a yellow submarine? Of course, I'd love to hear some other funny songs, like "A Boy Named Sue," by Johnny Cash, so covers are most welcome. We do want to welcome families to come, so please, no bad language. In between the performances, I'll tell some jokes to keep our time together filled with laughs!
